Traditional and delicious snacks since 1986
As a family-owned business, we've thrived on hard work, quality products, a commitment to community and a sense of fun.
This is what made us famous and it is what still drives us today.
The origins of Jack Link's date back to the 1880s, when Chris Link left his hometown and moved to the Northwoods of Wisconsin, USA. He didn't bring much with him, but he did bring along his family's sausage recipe.
This is truly an admirable commitment.
Soon his sausages and smoked beef became so popular among pioneers that they became legendary - everyone was talking about them (at least that's the story we've heard).
Carrying on that serious meat obsession, Chris' son, Earl Link, later opened the first general store and butcher shop in the town of Minong.
In 1916, Earl had a son whom he named "Wolf Link" who was a member of the flesh from the moment he was born.
Despite his predatory name, Wolf became a great rancher and raised some of the best beef in the country, but his greatest achievement wasn't raising cattle. His "chosen one" was a boy named Jack Link.
One day while fishing with his sons, Jack decided to use his great-grandfather's recipe to create the highest quality beef jerky - thus "Jack Link's Original Kippered Beefsteak" was born, and it quickly became a hit with friends and locals alike.
In 1986, Jack began selling his smoked beef steaks in convenience stores in Wisconsin, but the turning point came when he purchased a beef jerky packaging machine, which enabled him to distribute the product nationwide, and Jack Link's eventually grew into a brand that was sold on stores across the United States.
Our beef jerky is made from 100% New Zealand beef, lean cuts and a family recipe that's been handed down for over 100 years.
Each and every one is carefully selected from premium ingredients and marinated in a unique spice blend to create the deep flavor that is unique to Jack Link's. Popular flavors include Original, Jalapeno, Sweet & Hot, and Peppered.
In addition, we slow-cook it at low temperature in our smokehouse and carefully dry it to create an ideal finish with rich flavor. Please enjoy this dish that is full of Jack Link's attention to detail.
We were born in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and are still proud to call home the rural home of **Jack Link (yes, he's a real person!)**.
Our foundation was built on hard work, pioneering spirit, and a deep love of beef jerky -- a tradition that continues to this day in the hands of team members working in small towns across America.
